It’s been such a busy time. I decided, when I wasn’t busy, to apply for certiﬁcation for 100% Vegan and also Palm oil free, (I have cruelty free certiﬁcation currently). It’s very thorough the Vegan Cert. I was even asked for the ingredients for a salt lamp! I thought I had researched extensively and was a shoe in. Some of the ingredients queried had me dumbfounded. Apple Cider vinegar. Activated charcoal. Castile soap, (which only contains organic local olive oil), and others that you wouldn’t even doubt…Just those few are dragging it on and on. It’s good that In the end I at least, will know what 100%Vegan Certiﬁcation means.
I think What’s inside is what counts, but that’s coming from a manufacturers perspective. Just my luck to be so creative and have hundreds of ingredients. (Wishing I’d done a cull, of lesser products I rarely make.) I’ll have to do this sometime because Palm oil free certiﬁcationcosts ALLOT and it’s for EACH product.
Being not for proﬁt, doesn’t do me justice in these matters. Lol.
Palm oil free is a GO!!! Now just to decide which products will proudly display the symbol cos I can only afford a few 🙂 Which brings me to ponder this..What are your thoughts on paying 70% more for a same quality product for
1. The packaging
2. Registration fees for assurances like these
3. Normal proﬁt margin?
If my product costs $15 to make and I sell it for $18.50, (because I’m doing it to help others), and someone else sells it for $48.50, (well, cos they do it for the money- it’s a business). Is that something that’s important to you?
Often consider this too; Is that plastic bag and pretty, professional looking box satisfying enough to warrant your hard earned money? Are you happy to pay more for products because they have Certiﬁcates?
